“Tony was my Father, he began his career working as a hairdresser in Mayfair during the 1950's. Dad loved working in London and would have stayed had it not been for the arrival of his first son Nigel in 1961, and daughter Erica in 1963.
Dad decided to look for premises in 1966. He found the perfect place in Highcliffe and thus Salon 282 was born, photos of which you can see within the website.
Erica joined the company in 1979 working alongside Dad in a couple of different salons around the local area. In 1984 we opened Tony Hairdressing in Highcliffe and in 1992 I came along. The three of us had great fun together until 1996 when Dad died suddenly. Strangely enough, it was on a weekend, which he always joked about, meaning that the clients wouldn't be disrupted and work could continue unaffected… ha ha.
Sure enough we re-opened on Tuesday 24th September, 1996 with me in charge… Aaaarrrggghh. I expanded in 2005 into the shop next door and then opened another salon at The Fountain in Christchurch on 19th July, 2010. After a great deal of discussion I decided to close the Highcliffe salon on 31st December, 2012 to concentrate efforts in Christchurch, Number 1 in the High Street…”

“I'm Connor Richards and I have been with Tony Hair twice since the age of 15 and I am now 24! (Can't get rid of me!) Although recently qualified, I love all aspects of my job and with the great age range of our wonderful clients I am very comfortable taking on all types of cutting, colouring and blowdries!”
“Looking forward to my future at Tony's.”
